Welcome First Time Visitors!
We designed this page exclusively for you. We know it is important for many of our guests to know what to expect before they visit.
Who are we?
Philadelphia Bible Fellowship consists of a range of different people committed to radically showcasing the compassion, love, and character of Christ. Whoever you are you are assured a very warm welcome at PBF.
When to arrive:
If it's your first visit then it's probably best to show up around 10.15 AM. If you are driving there is ample free parking around the church building. For directions to reach us please see the Map/Directions page. On this page you can type your starting address and receive detailed driving directions. You'll be welcomed at the door by our greeters who will give you some information about the church, upcoming activities, and small groups that may fit your personal and spiritual needs.
What to wear:
This is easy! Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you come as a suited businessman, a casual dresser or in your favorite hip hop gear that’s fine with us.
What to expect:
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a strange and nervous experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at PBF.
First of all we aren't bunch of know-it-all, super-spiritual people. All of us have had a first day at a new church, whether we were raised in church from the crib or first starting going as an adult.
At PBF, you’ll find we are a humble and friendly community of people trying to showcase the love of God in an authentic and genuine way. If you don’t understand something please simply ask a greeter or anyone near you for assistance.
We start our service at 10:30 AM with the reading of a few Bible verses and prayer. Our worship time consists of live contemporary songs (with keyboards and drums). The lyrics to the songs are place in the worship bulletin so everyone can participate.
After our time of singing, we welcome our guests, have a time of greeting each other, engage in corporate prayer, take up an offering, and hear a relevant word from the Bible from one of our pastors.
Right before the sermon begins, our children (ages 4–11) and our youth (ages 12–19) go to different class rooms to experience a lesson from the Bible on their level. The children do arts and crafts, play games, and sing songs as well. The youths engage in relevant discussions around issues that affect them.
Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for a long time that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning worship experience. We pray that you will be drawn closer to God and that He might meet you right where you are!
What we believe:
We are a young Christian church and believe that all can have relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only Son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and modern backgrounds. If you are interested in exploring the Christian faith then please come visit us on a Sunday Morning, Contact Us now via the web, or call us at (215) 722-0600.
Is it just Sundays?
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us we have small groups (a small group is simply a meeting of maybe 5-10 people at the church or in someone's house). Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church and to be real with each other about everyday living. If you are just looking into Christianity you are welcome to come along to a small group but you may prefer to join our Cultivation group. Cultivation is a great way to find out more about God and the claims of Christianity. No question is too simple and you'll find other people also exploring God for the first time. Our Cultivation Group meets on Sundays at 9:00 AM at the church building. Contact Us to find our more about Cultivation.
For disabled people:
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. However our resources are limited so we try to provide for our current attendees. If you wish to discuss specific needs please contact the church office at (215) 224-7234.
